Girls FM appeared to have begun in early 1987 but then disappeared until August of that year. It aimed to transmit Soul and dance music 24 hours, seven days a week but broadcasts were decidedly patchy and relied on a lot of pre-recorded programming. Electro and Hip Hop were played, but the shows on which it featured and the DJs who played it are not currently known. They struggled on into 1988 but it is not known when they finally disappeared.
